Forced carry over jungle that usually plays with an ailing cross wind from left to right. For the average player this is a three shot hole. The fairway is generous if the player stays left but the most common error is a miss to the right which is almost always death. The player will either find the punishing fairway bunker or even worse go off the fairway down a steep embankment resulting in a lost ball. The second shot is downhill but players must avoid the approach bunker on the right. This is another one of Bill Coore’s elusions to make the hole appear shorter and is in a strategic area waiting to gobble up the slightest player mistake on the layup or approach. The right and rear of this green are protected with bunkers and a steep fall off on the right. The left side provides the best miss with plenty of chipping area. The green has a ridge through the middle that depending on pin location will affect your line.
